In accordance with our organizational commitment to provide the Best Care for All, the Organizational Development Team, within the Human Resources Portfolio, provides support to teams and leaders in the organization which is essential to achieving HHS’ strategic and operational objectives. The OD team is responsible for providing expertise and guidance throughout the organization in the areas of leading change, leadership development, team development, learning and development, and coaching.
The involvement of OD in corporate and team initiatives contributes to the ability of the organization to deliver results and increase the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and sustainability of HHS activities.
Supported by evidenced-based tools and methodologies, Organizational Development exists to champion and foster a culture of respect, equity, and inclusion that enables people and teams at HHS to be their best in service of our patients and their families.
Position SummaryReporting to the Director, Culture & People Development, the Manager, Organizational Development manages and oversees the design and delivery of Organizational Development (OD) programs. The manager leads a team of talented Organizational Development practitioners, including Specialist, Associate and Coordinator roles, to build organizational capacity and improve individual, team and organizational effectiveness in support of Hamilton Health Sciences’ mission and vision.
The Manager, Organizational Development plays a key role on the Human Resources team by providing content expertise and consultation in the areas of change management and transition, coaching, team development and leadership development. The role also oversees the design, development and provision of related educational programs for the organization through the ‘Center for People Development’ and other forums.
The Manager, Organization Development has knowledge of organization behaviour, application theories and models for change, organization culture, engagement and recognition, leadership and LEADS leadership framework, coaching skills (leadership, performance and development at all levels of the organization), facilitation and presentation skills, curriculum design, Adult Learning Theory and methodologies, group dynamics and team development.
This role is responsible for applying best practice methodologies and creating customized organizational development solutions to support the success and adoption of complex, organization-wide and highly integrated change initiatives and transformational projects.
Schedule Work HoursDays, Monday to Friday with willingness to be flexible with working hours to suit operational requirements. 37.5 hours per week.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement under HHS' Remote Work Policy.
