Cascadia Metals is seeking a hands-on Warehouse & Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations at our Hamilton branch. This is a working supervisor role, where the Supervisor actively participates in warehouse activities while providing leadership, direction, and oversight to the team. The role combines warehouse supervision with responsibility for equipment and facility upkeep, health & safety, and general operational support.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in metal and coil handling who is comfortable operating equipment and leading from the floor.
Warehouse Supervision & Hands-On Operations
- Supervise and support daily warehouse activities while working alongside the team as needed.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including CTL (Cut-to-Length) machines, slitter machines, and forklifts.
- Coordinate receiving, processing, storage, and shipping of metal and coil products.
- Assign daily work, monitor workflow, and support productivity and quality standards.
- Train, coach, and provide day-to-day guidance to warehouse employees.
Maintenance, Facility & Health & Safety Oversight
- Oversee and perform basic equipment, facility, and yard maintenance.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and report or address equipment issues.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and proper material handling.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions as required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and general housekeeping.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers for maintenance or repairs.
- Support the Branch Manager with operational planning and continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as required to support branch operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5+ years of experience in a metal service centre, steel warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Strong hands-on experience working with metal and coil products.
- Experience operating a CTL (Cut-to-Length) machine.
- Valid forklift licence (required).
- Prior supervisory or lead-hand experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment or facility maintenance.
- Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting (OHSA).
