Hamilton Community Legal Clinic Board Position

Contribute to the Hamilton Community Legal Clinic as a Board Member, guiding strategic planning with a focus on diversity and inclusion. This role emphasizes governance.

In this Board Member position, you will be responsible for setting strategic objectives and holding the organization accountable to both funders and the community. Valued skills include non-profit governance, finance, law, and human resources experience, as well as lived experience related to poverty and mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape the strategic direction of the clinic

• Manage governance and ensure operational oversight

• Interact with diverse equity-seeking community members

• Participate in virtual meetings and annual gatherings

• Foster initiatives that advance access to justice

Requirements:

• Non-profit governance expertise required

• Financial and legal experience preferred

• Commitment to equity and inclusion

• Advocacy skills for equity-seeking populations

• Minimum of 3 hours per month commitment
