The City of Hamilton is actively recruiting for the Lab Technician I role within its environmental laboratory team. This position focuses on the analysis of wastewater and drinking water, utilizing sophisticated laboratory techniques and instruments. Your responsibilities will include maintaining compliance with ISO
17025 standards and enhancing laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine analyses and evaluations on water quality
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory analytical instruments
• Maintain records and report findings in LIMS
• Assist in method validation and internal audits
• Provide training to new staff on laboratory procedures
Requirements:
• Educational background in chemistry, biology, or related science
• Experience in an accredited environmental laboratory setting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and LIMS
• Exceptional attention to detail with analytical skills
• Capacity to handle a variety of tasks in a time-sensitive environment
