Ecologist LRT Project

Join Egis Canada as an Ecologist in Ontario, enhancing ecological assessments for the Hamilton LRT project. This role is designed for those passionate about species preservation and environmental impact.

As a Junior Ecologist, you will engage in various habitat assessments focusing on Species ’ll gather data from diverse environments, contribute to ecological mapping, and support report preparation, fostering collaboration within our multidisciplinary team. This position demands travel to project locations and outdoor fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform surveys for species such as birds, bats, and reptiles

• Assist in ecological land classification and habitat characterization

• Manage data and ensure quality using digital tools

• Prepare detailed technical reports under guidance

• Coordinate field logistics and health safety measures

Requirements:

• University degree in ecology, biology, or similar field

• 1–3 years experience in ecological work or environmental consulting

• Familiarity with Ontario's native species and regulations

• Strong data management skills with GPS software

• Capability for physical fieldwork in varied conditions
