Night Shift Chemical Technician

GFL is seeking a Full-Time Chemical Technician for the night shift in Hamilton, ON. This role focuses on sorting and repacking chemical hazardous waste efficiently.

As a Chemical Technician at GFL, you will report directly to the Operations Supervisor. Your key responsibilities include classifying and testing chemical groups, handling bulk shipments, and maintaining safety standards within the facility. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in Chemistry or related experience, especially those with industrial exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify and test collected chemicals for proper grouping

• Handle bulk inorganic and organic materials for shipment

• Sort pesticides and prepare them for distribution

• Conduct inventory counts and label containers

• Adhere to health and safety procedures consistently

Requirements:

• Education in Chemistry or equivalent experience

• Preferred background in industrial settings

• Valid G class Driver’s license (an asset)

• Forklift experience is advantageous but not mandatory
