Schlegel Villages is seeking a Maintenance Team Member for The Village of Wentworth Heights in Hamilton, Ontario.

Location: 1620 Upper Wentworth St, Hamilton, ON L9B 2K5.

Start Date: January 22, 2026.

Hiring Wage: $19.11 an hour.

Position Type: Unscheduled Part Time.

Responsibilities
  • Work comfortably in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Handle residents’ personal items with care and respect.
  • Lift 15–25 lbs.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward residents, families, and team members.
  • Have exceptional time‑management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.
  • Support and embrace a resident‑centered social culture.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in a long‑term care or retirement home setting.
  • Understanding of infection control practices, WHMIS, and relevant health and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance and trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery, such as hot water heating systems, air exchange units, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and call systems.
  • Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
