Automotive Technician, Tire Technician
Kal Tire is seeking a Tire Technician skilled with working on both commercial and industrial tires for our Steel Mill operations on the North shore of Lake Erie. Your primary responsibility will be to inspect, repair, and replace OTR and mining tires on a variety of commercial vehicles from forklifts to the largest heavy machinery, within a Steel Mill environment. Your schedule is Continental 12-hour shifts.
KeyHighlights
- Execute tire service operations on commercial vehicles to Kal Tire standards, ensuring precision and efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams for seamless maintenance and repair of commercial vehicle equipment.
- Demonstrate operational and technical skill in dismounting and mounting tires, adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough equipment checks, calibration, and repairs, maintaining operational efficiency of heavy-duty tire servicing tools.
- Train on site in Stoney Creek and work independently off site
- This position offers starting wages of $22.70 with wage progression opportunities up to $37 based on experience

- Conduct routine tire inspections and maintenance services.
- Provide on-site fleet service, roadside assistance, and off-site commercial tire services.
- Interact with customers professionally, addressing concerns and recommending appropriate tire options.
- Communicate clearly about services performed and additional recommendations.
- Valid Driver’s Licence (DZ licence is considered an asset).
- Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tire services.
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and constructive workplace.
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Physically capable, able to lift 50 lbs at shoulder height.
- Safety-focused, following all required PPE and procedures.
