Location: Ancaster, Ontario, Canada (onsite; travel to Mississauga & Stratford required)
Salary Range: $32.81 - $42.21 per hour
Vacancy Type: Existing position
Schedule: Full‑time; overtime required; project/support needs may include afternoon/night shifts & weekends
Travel: Required between plants; reimbursed per JE travel policies; use of own vehicle preferred
As our next Millwright Apprentice– CME
, you’ll be at the forefront of performing repairs, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex mechanical equipment across multiple Johnson Electric manufacturing facilities. Your expertise in industrial mechanics, mechanical drives, hydraulics, troubleshooting, and contractor coordination will be essential to driving our success and supporting critical press appreciation, rebuilds, and major repair projects.

- Perform repairs involving pumps, valves, actuators, motors, gears, hydraulics, mechanical drives, speed reducers, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot all mechanical equipment and recommend repair or replacement actions.
- Interpret O&M manuals, diagrams, schematics, and prints; recommend revisions.
- Coordinate and oversee contractor work; inspect results to ensure compliance with standards.
- Respond to emergency equipment failures; diagnose issues and complete or coordinate repairs.
- Support Regional Special Projects Group in equipment implementation, start‑up, and commissioning.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
- Use a CMMS (EAM) to log work, source parts, track history, and update work status.
- Perform welding, pipe‑fitting, rigging, and other related duties.
- Lead and support major breakdowns, repairs, and press appreciation (repairs & rebuilds).
- Comply with all safety standards, applicable codes, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001.
- Adhere to JE policies and perform other duties as assigned.
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma + Certificate of Apprenticeship.
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in good standing.
- 3–5 years of practical experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of MS Office, EAM CMMS, and computerized systems (asset).
- Knowledge of Cincinnati, Dorst, and SMS presses (preferred).
- Strong understanding of OHSA‑mandated safety practices.
- Ability to read manufacturer schematics, design drawings, and O&M manuals.
- Experience supporting multi‑site maintenance or traveling technician roles.
- Strong press‑repair/rebuild background.
- Advanced troubleshooting and contractor‑coordination skills.
