A well-established Hamilton truck and trailer repair facility is currently seeking an experienced Heavy Truck & Trailer Welder / Fabricator to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled welder with strong fabrication and repair experience who enjoys working on heavy trucks, trailers, structural repairs, and custom modifications in a busy shop environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing structural welding repairs on commercial trucks and trailers, working with heavy steel components, and supporting repair and fabrication projects from start to finish. Candidates with mechanical experience or exposure to truck and trailer maintenance will be strongly considered.

• Perform structural welding repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and commercial transport equipment
• Repair and reinforce cracked frames, cross members, floors, dump bodies, trailer walls, hinges, and structural components
• Fabricate and modify metal parts, brackets, supports, and assemblies as required
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
• Operate MIG, stick, arc welding, plasma cutting, and oxy-acetylene torch equipment safely and effectively
• Cut, fit, align, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, work orders, and repair instructions
• Use grinders, hand tools, torches, and fabrication equipment to prepare and finish work pieces
• Assist with truck and trailer repairs, preventative maintenance, and shop projects as required
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet safety and workmanship standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
• Collaborate with mechanics, technicians, and shop staff to complete repairs efficiently

• Previous experience as a Welder, Fabricator, Trailer Mechanic, Truck & Coach Technician, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong MIG welding and metal fabrication experience required
• Experience repairing heavy trucks, trailers, dump bodies, transport equipment, or structural steel components preferred
• Comfortable working with heavy gauge steel and structural repairs
• Ability to read blueprints, measurements, and fabrication drawings
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills considered a strong asset
• Experience with cutting torches, grinders, and shop fabrication equipment
• Ability to work independently and manage repair projects efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• CWB certification considered an asset
• 310T license or apprenticeship considered an asset
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Ability to work in a physically demanding shop environment
