A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTORATION TECHNICIAN
As a Restoration Technician, you bring both skill and energy to every job. You will assess damage, set up drying and deodorization systems, and carry out water, mold and asbestos remediation following industry standards. You will support and sometimes lead response crews, coordinate site setup, and ensure equipment, scaffolding and safety systems are properly in place. You will work closely with your team to solve problems on‑site, communicate progress, and ensure each project moves smoothly from start to finish.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 1 year experience in the restoration/emergency industry, preferably working in the Emergency & Contents division.
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn new techniques and equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, mobile devices and relevant applications.
Effective communication skills with coworkers, supervisors and customers.
Knowledge of water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRC S‑500 Standard.
Basic understanding of all equipment used in water‑damaged environments.
College certificate in environmental technology an asset.
Water Remediation Technician (WRT) certification.
Forklift certification is an asset.
Provincial asbestos certification preferred.
Valid full class driver’s licence and clear driver’s abstract.
Fit test and other safety certifications.
Includes participation in a rotating on‑call schedule.
Ability to complete work activities that may involve material handling, lifting, climbing, and the use of personal protective equipment including respirators, safety footwear and other required gear.
