Heritage Facility Repair Person

Join the City of Hamilton as a Heritage Facility Maintenance Repair Person, where your skills in hands-on technical work and communication are essential. This position involves performing vital repairs and maintenance in a museum environment with a strong emphasis on preserving historical artifacts.

In this role, you’ll report directly to the Supervisor of Heritage Facilities & Maintenance. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical systems, conducting carpentry tasks, and maintaining general building aspects. You must be available for varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, showcasing your commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct repairs in museum and heritage site areas

• Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC and electrical equipment

• Perform carpentry and general construction tasks

• Operate and maintain various hand and power tools

• Liaise with curatorial staff to discuss projects

Requirements:

• Experience in Heritage Facility repairs

• Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems

• Ability to safely use power tools

• Must possess a valid Class “G” driver's license

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
