Truck Mechanic Apprentice / Technician II
Location:
Stoney Creek, ON
Pay: $32–$34/hour
Schedule:
Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Summary
Staffmax Staffing & Recruiting is currently hiring a Truck Mechanic Apprentice / Technician II for our client in Stoney Creek, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an apprentice or developing technician looking to grow their skills in a professional fleet maintenance environment with modern equipment, strong mentorship, and long-term career advancement.
This role is ideal for someone with truck or automotive mechanical experience who wants to build a career working on commercial trucks and trailers. You will receive hands-on experience with advanced systems while working alongside experienced technicians and supervisors.

Assist with diagnosis, overhaul, and repair of truck and trailer systemsPerform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicingSupport repairs to engines, transmissions, differentials, clutches, PTO systems, and driveline componentsService brake systems including ABS, steering, suspension, HVAC, and electrical systemsRepair starters, alternators, sensors, ECMs, ECUs, and related electronicsReplace components such as turbochargers, injectors, cooling system parts, and fan clutchesPrepare trade-in equipment and new units for deliveryIdentify parts required for repairs and complete service documentationConduct inspections and road tests when requiredMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaSupport additional shop projects as assignedQualifications
2+ years of tractor-trailer, truck, or related mechanical experienceCurrently enrolled in an apprenticeship programMust maintain apprenticeship registration in good standing310S licence or automotive background considered an assetExperience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipmentBasic computer skills preferredValid Class G or Class 5 driver’s licence with ability to obtain DZ within 6 monthsReliable attendance and strong work ethicAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled environmentPhysical Requirements
