Waste Collection Labourer

Become an essential part of the City of Hamilton’s Waste Collections team as a Labourer. This role involves operating tools and equipment to manage waste and debris in all weather conditions.

The City of Hamilton seeks a Labourer for the Waste Collections section. You will perform physical labour, including lifting and operating various tools and equipment in downtown and other areas. Working together with a team, you will engage with the public while ensuring compliance with Health and Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate hand and power tools for waste collection

• Perform physical tasks including lifting and shoveling

• Complete daily logs and activity reports

• Maintain tools and equipment with basic inspections

• Interact respectfully with the public and team members

Requirements:

• Experience operating equipment safely

• Ability to lift up to 32 kg (70 lbs) occasionally

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

• Willingness to work shifts and overtime

• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
