Position Summary
The Security Account Executive – Security is responsible for promoting and selling Johnson Controls services and technology related to the security domain, building relationships, closing new business, and ensuring customer retention. This role serves as the Johnson Controls brand steward, conveying the company’s story and positioning it as the leading electronic security provider. The position focuses on securing profitable sales and upgrades to new commercial customers while maximizing customer satisfaction and retention.
Responsibilities- Adhere to current Johnson Controls policies, procedures, products, programs, and services.
- Uncover upgrades and upselling opportunities within the existing account base and create new market share by selling Johnson Controls products and services to new local commercial customers.
- Identify prospects using creative lead‑generating techniques and maintain productive working relationships with existing customers.
- Independently establish call plans, customer follow‑up strategies, and consistently apply time and territory management techniques with a strong focus on developing new customer base.
- Follow up with prospects and maintain an in‑depth knowledge of the complete line of products/services and customers’ issues and needs through in‑house training and research.
- Process work orders and complete all paperwork in accordance with approved and standardized procedures.
- Conduct post‑installation follow‑up by contacting customers, ensuring commitments were met, affirming customer satisfaction, and obtaining referrals.
- High school degree or diploma in a related technical electronics field.
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in the commercial security industry, in either a sales or technician role.
- Must meet the requirements for a Reliability Clearance.
- Experience designing, deploying, and supporting customer solutions in a technology‑related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment, MS Teams, Salesforce, Compass (ERP), and adept at Excel spreadsheet formulas.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to present to senior‑level executives within the customer and Johnson Controls organizations.
- Action‑oriented and goal‑driven to achieve results.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work a full‑time schedule.
Hiring salary range: $46,000 – $69,000. The role also offers a competitive sales incentive plan that takes into account volume and margin on projects, quarterly and annually. Compensation may exceed the stated range for exceptional candidates.
