Job DescriptionSouth Lanarkshire Council are recruiting for an experienced Joiner to support the delivery of various works programmes within Building Services. You will have a flexible approach to managing varied workloads as you will be required to carry out all associated Joinery tasks including refurbishment and maintenance works.
Key Responsibilities- Time‑served with trade qualifications SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in the appropriate trade discipline.
- Demonstrate sound practical technical competencies in delivering high quality workmanship in all aspects of the trade.
- Manage joinery tasks within commercial and domestic properties.
- Apply knowledge of all types of Joinery works; experience working in Public Buildings and Schools is advantageous.
- Commit to customer care principles, exhibiting excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Deliver work to targets and pre‑determined timescales.
- Demonstrate awareness of health and safety in the workplace.
- SVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds trade qualification.
- Sound practical technical competence in joinery.
- Experience in both commercial and domestic properties within the construction industry.
- Knowledge of joinery work in public buildings and schools is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills.
- Track record of delivering to targets and timescales.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations.
This post is excepted in terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020.
An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required for applicants born outside the UK or who have lived/ worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years.
