HGV Technician

Location: Blantyre (G72)

Salary: £20.50 per hour + enhanced weekend rates + overtime

Hours: 37 hours per week | Full-Time, Permanent

Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

The Role of the HGV Technician / PSV Technician

Working in a highly equipped, modern depot, your day‑to‑day will include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing vehicle electrical faults, routine servicing, and parts replacement.
  • Specifying correct repair methods and identifying required parts.
  • Conducting vehicle road testing to diagnose faults or sign off on repairs.
  • Ensuring full compliance with health and safety (HSE) guidelines and standard operating procedures.
What You Need as the HGV Technician / PSV Technician
  • NVQ / SVQ Level 3 (or City & Guilds equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience working on heavy vehicles (HGV/PCV) is preferred, but light commercial or mechanical military backgrounds are highly welcome.
  • Good electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic knowledge.
  • Valid UK driving licence. (A PCV licence is a bonus, but the company will pay and support you to get one!).
