Reporting to the Bermuda Chief Accounting Officer, the Regulatory Reporting Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting the financial reporting, accounting, and regulatory requirements of the Company's reinsurance business. This position is responsible for Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) reporting, reinsurance accounting, and the analysis of complex transactions while partnering across Finance, Actuarial, Risk, Investments, and Reinsurance teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving accurate reporting, process improvements, and operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule in our Bermuda office, with an on-site presence of 2-3 days per week combining flexibility with team collaboration.

What You’ll Be Doing

Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reporting in support of Bermuda Statutory (BSTAT), Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet (EBS), and U.S. GAAP.

Prepare, reconcile, and analyze BSCR schedules in accordance with Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulatory requirements.

Lead daily reinsurance accounting activities, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Support the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, management accounts, settlement statements, and regulatory filings.

Interpret and account for complex reinsurance arrangements, including coinsurance, funds withheld, and modified coinsurance (Mod Co) transactions.

Support the implementation and transition of new reinsurance transactions from initial setup through ongoing operational execution.

Develop, document, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting processes to ensure compliance with SOX, regulatory, and accounting standards.

Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing supporting documentation, schedules, analyses, and responding to audit requests.

Design and maintain process documentation, workflows, and process maps to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of reinsurance accounting and reporting activities.

Collaborate closely with Actuarial, Investments, Risk Management, Reinsurance Administration, and other key stakeholders to support strategic business objectives.

Identify and drive opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen controls, and improve reporting processes.

Contribute to strategic initiatives, business transformation efforts, technology implementations, and other special projects as required.

The base salary range for this position is $91,289 - $140,000. Actual base salaries vary based on skills, experience, and geographical location. In addition to base pay, Equitable provides compensation to reward performance with base salary increases, spot bonuses, and short-term incentive compensation opportunities. Eligibility for these programs depends on level and functional area of responsibility.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Accounting , Finance, or a related field, along with a professional accounting designation such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years of accounting and financial reporting experience within the life and annuity (re) insurance industry, including experience with BMA reporting under the BSCR and EBS frameworks.
