The Site Finance Officer (SFO) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton/Somerset, acts as a trusted financial advisor to our hospital CEO and executive team. You'll partner closely with leadership on strategic planning, keep day-to-day financial operations running smoothly, and serve as our key bridge to RWJBH system leadership.

Taking a proactive, hands‑on approach, the SFO will guide the budgeting process, build smart tracking tools, and help drive hospital growth by fostering strong relationships with medical leaders and discovering new technologies and services. Plus, you'll oversee three vital teams:
Supply Chain, Health Information Management, and Admitting/Registration.

As a Site Finance Officer a typical day might include the following:

  • Navigating Operations & Managing Time: Prioritizing and balancing multiple assignments simultaneously, executing tasks with a high sense of urgency, accuracy, and resilience when handling setbacks.
  • Supporting & Leading the Team: Staying highly visible and accessible on the floor, utilizing effective retention practices (interviewing, giving performance feedback, offering recognition, and addressing conflicts constructively), while fostering a culturally competent, diverse environment.
  • Managing Resources & Budgets: Checking daily staffing needs against demand, allocating labor and non‑labor resources efficiently, and proactively monitoring budget variances to stay within targets.
  • Driving Quality & Continuous Improvement: Applying continuous quality improvement (CQI) principles, evaluating current workflows, gathering feedback, and implementing new ideas to optimize productivity and service.
  • Delivering Customer Excellence: Building positive relationships with patients, physicians, visitors, and staff, while promptly following through on inquiries and using customer feedback to refine processes.
