Pay Range$84,773.00 – $98,418.00 per year
Job OverviewAlong with other core team members, the Early Intervention Physical Therapist (PT) screens, evaluates, provides ongoing assessment, and aids in the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for each child. The PT provides direct services to children eligible for early intervention services with delays in physical, cognitive, communication, social, and adaptive development. The PT, along with other team members, instructs parents and caregivers by modeling strategies to incorporate into the family routines, discusses progress and challenges, and prepares transition or discharge plans.
Qualifications- Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- New Jersey Licensed Physical Therapist
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license and required insurance
- At least 2 years’ experience working with young children with disabilities
- Targeted Evaluation Team members require 2 years pediatric experience working and evaluating children ages 0‑5
- Sound background in normal child development
- Knowledge of the educational and therapeutic value of early intervention for children with developmental delays
- Knowledge of basic principles of behavior management
- Ability to integrate early childhood educational and intervention techniques into family routines as identified by the family
- New Jersey Licensed Physical Therapist
- New Jersey Driver’s License
- Full Time
- 40 hours per week
- Completes developmental evaluations in the child's natural environment to identify strengths and needs
- Communicates effectively with families and other team members in oral and written formats
- Supports family ability to interact with their child in daily routines
- Provides appropriate strategies with measurable outcomes as part of the IFSP
- Makes recommendations for ongoing services in collaboration with family and service coordination
- Uses the NJ Birth to Three Early Learning Standards as a framework for developmentally appropriate expectations
- Demonstrates knowledge of discipline‑specific tools and checklists for assessment and strategy description
- Selects and adapts appropriate activities, incorporating evidence‑based strategies
- Evaluates effectiveness of methods while meeting family outcomes
- Maintains sensitivity to parents’ circumstances, confidentiality, and NJEIS Code of Conduct
- Completes session notes according to departmental rules and records data appropriately
- Sought supervision or consultation in relation to clinical performance
- Contributes to annual performance reviews and improvement plans
- Assists in training others in the EI philosophy and intervention models
- Communicates job‑specific concerns and participates in solution development
- Attends and participates in in‑service trainings, staff meetings, and conference calls
- Travels in personal vehicle to families’ natural environments
- Accurately records time and frequency of services for billing and signatures
- Submits bills and required paperwork on time and accurately
- Communicates with office via email, text, and telephone; responds quickly
