Same day surgery nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing surgical procedures. Responsibilities span pre‑operative assessment, intra‑operative assistance, and post‑anesthesia care. The nurse ensures patients are safely prepared for surgery and recover appropriately before discharge on the same day.

• Collect and assess patient healthcare data, document assessments and reassessments.
• Direct patient, family, and interdisciplinary team to identify realistic and measurable care plans.
• Prioritize care based on data collected.
• Coordinate patient care safely, timely, and appropriately.
• Apply and support escalation processes.
• Consider needs of specific patient age and cultural groups.
• Educate patient and family regarding health status and care plans.
• Develop and evaluate educational plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to modify expected outcomes and evaluate progress.
• Document and evaluate effectiveness of interventions.
• Coordinate and direct unit activities to provide care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
• Analyze unit throughput efficiency and metrics.

• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• ASN or Nursing diploma (must obtain BSN within 5 years).
• Previous RN experience.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring dexterity, coordination, strength, flexibility, endurance.
• Superior customer service and communication skills.

• BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years experience preferred.

• AHA BLS and ACLS.
• PALS.
• Current New Jersey RN license.

• 40 hours per week – Day Shift.
