Staff Nurse PT Eves UCHC GSYCF (multiple vacancies)

University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), part of Rutgers University, is seeking a Part‑time Staff Nurse for the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility (GSYCF) in Yardville, NJ. The Nurse will use the nursing process to meet a variety of health‑care needs in a correctional setting, working with clinicians and security staff.

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care for adult and geriatric inmates, meeting physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Communicate effectively; demonstrate respect, concern and courtesy in all interactions.
• Promote a safe environment and follow nursing protocols and security procedures.
• Assess and identify the physical health of inmates, develop individualized goals and implement interventions.
• Serve as a team leader as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• License to practice nursing in New Jersey.
• CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license with own vehicle or alternative transportation to travel between sites.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a correctional setting preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent preferred.

Must be able to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes, lift and carry an emergency treatment bag up to 45 pounds, and assist in lifting/rotating patients up to 50 pounds. Must be approved by the Department of Corrections and comply with all DOC requirements.

Grade: 01D. Salary range: minimum $37,230; mid range $46,540; maximum $54,050. Benefits include medical, dental, prescription, paid vacation, holidays, retirement plans, educational benefits, life insurance, and discount programs.

Part‑time, 20 hours per week, evening shift. Full onsite work arrangement at the correctional facility.
