Primary purpose:
Administer total patient care based on individualized needs of assigned patients and families, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Provide technical nursing care, perform treatments and procedures within guidelines, and create a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Participate in data collection related to patients’ status and needs; provide input to the Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care.
- Provide direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care.
- Inform and instruct patients or significant others on health/illness state and plan of care.
- Assist patient or significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance at home.
- Document all aspects of patient care.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of New Jersey.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or alternative transportation between sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least six months experience in an acute hospital setting.
Position:
Grade 99H, hourly rate $29.00. Compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and available funding.

Hourly: 19 hours. Standard hours: 19.00. Daily work shift: rotating. Full onsite work arrangement required.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentMust perform CPR for at least 10 minutes; physically able to assist in lifting and rotating patients who cannot ambulate, up to 50 pounds.
Special ConditionsMust be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
