Schedule

7 hours/day; 5 days/week; 10 months /year

Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid NJ Class B, CDL License with S & P endorsements
  • Good health and sufficient vitality to perform duties assigned.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for assigned responsibilities.
  • Clean driving record
  • Minimum 3 years previous safe driving experience.
  • 3 years experience operating a school bus or commercial vehicle.
Performance Responsibilities
  • Obeys all traffic laws. Observes all mandatory State of NJ Regulations for School Buses.
  • Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. Reports disciplined issues to the proper administrative personnel.
  • Keeps assigned bus clean.
  • Keeps to the assigned bus schedule.
  • Checks bus before each operation for mechanical defects and maintains all required paperwork.
  • Notifies the proper administrative personnel in case of mechanical failure and lateness.
  • Check bus after every run for students and/or items.
  • Pick up/ discharges students only at authorized bus stops.
  • Exercises responsible leadership when on district school trips.
  • Transports only authorized students.
  • Reports all accidents and complete required reports.
  • Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus
  • Performs such duties as may from time to time be assigned.
