Job SummaryThe Physical Therapist at North Mississippi Health Services is integral to the Rehabilitation Services department. This role involves evaluating patients and creating treatment plans, ensuring competence in various therapeutic areas. The Physical Therapist collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, adheres to regulations, and maintains patient satisfaction through effective clinical decision-making and equipment management.
Job FunctionsSupervisory.
- Delegates authority to PTAs and technicians.
- Provides supervisory visits according to state regulations.
- Remains within monthly budget when ordering equipment and supplies.
- Charges patients appropriately and in a timely manner for treatment equipment.
- Maintains productivity level at department target.
- Evaluates and establishes treatment plan for any patient referred to Physical Therapy. Demonstrates Skills in the following areas:
- Evaluation.
- Therapeutic Exercise/Activity.
- Gait training.
- Cognitive skills.
- Wheelchair transfers.
- Modalities as appropriate for PT.
- Attends and provides continuing education in services.
- Serves as mentor for new employees.
- Serves as clinical instructor after one year of experience as a clinician.
- Completes documentation according to all regulations and in a timely manner.
- Must be competent in use of computer for documentation and charging purposes. Regulation:
- Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
- Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statutes.
