Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Health & Science Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the fields of health and science, fostering a deep understanding of the principles that govern human health, biology, and environmental science. This full-time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, collaboration, and a lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and school curriculum.
* Teach various health and science subjects, including biology, chemistry, anatomy, and health education, to students in grades 9-12.
* Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
* Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
* Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
* Collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and administration to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
* Stay current with developments in health and science education, integrating new research and methodologies into the curriculum.
* Participate in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school events to support the mission of Hamilton High School.
* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
* Supervise and mentor students in laboratory settings, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Health Science, Biology, or a related field;
Master's degree and CTE endorsement is preferred.
* Valid teaching certification in Health and Science or relevant subject area.
* Strong knowledge of health and science concepts, as well as current educational practices and technologies.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
* Passion for teaching and a desire to inspire students to pursue careers in health and science fields.
* Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board Policy.
