Reading Paraprofessional; N Grant Funded

Position: Reading Paraprofessional (35N Grant Funded)
Marshall Public Schools serves over 2,600 PK-13 students across eight (8) school buildings throughout the Marshall and Albion communities. NATURE OF POSITION:

The paraprofessional will assist in the implementation of 35n reading strategies and the educational needs of students.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Associates Degree; OR 60+ credit hours from a degree granting college/university

* Parental experience desired but not required

* Ability to work well with children and adults

* Maintain a general interest in helping children in their educational process

* Calm and patient demeanor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in individual or small group pupil instruction in the area of reading

* Assist classroom teacher(s) in maintaining discipline and supervision in the classroom

* Assist in escorting students to and from various rooms, when necessary

* Demonstrate initiative and creativity with student(s)

* Serve as substitute teacher in the event of a lack of teacher coverage in the building

* Adhere to district health and safety procedures

* Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the principal and/or classroom teacher(s)
