Summary

Marshall Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive counseling services to students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development. The School Counselor will collaborate with teachers, parents, and administration to create a supportive and nurturing environment, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Position would begin 2nd semester (January) - position open until filled.

Responsibilities

* Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional challenges.

* Develop and implement programs that promote positive mental health and well-being among students.

* Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify students in need of support and develop intervention strategies.

* Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' needs and progress.

* Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation among students to promote a positive school climate.

* Organize and participate in workshops, seminars, and parent meetings to educate the school community on relevant issues.

* Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.

* Stay informed about current trends and best practices in school counseling and mental health.

* Adhere to ethical guidelines and legal requirements related to counseling services.

Requirements

* Degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

* Valid state certification or licensure as a School Counselor.

* Experience working in a school setting preferred.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and families.

* Knowledge of counseling techniques, mental health issues, and academic support strategies - Marshall Academy uses TRAILS as their SEL curriculum.

* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations and professionals.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Proficient in using technology and software for record-keeping and communication.

* Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
