Summary

Hamilton High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Substitute Drivers Ed Instructor to temporarily fill in for our after-school drives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to ensuring that students develop safe and responsible driving habits. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to engage students effectively in behind-the-wheel instruction.

Responsibilities

* Conduct behind-the-wheel training sessions, providing hands-on instruction to students in a variety of driving conditions.

* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their driving skills.

* Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and any concerns that may arise.

* Follow all school policies and procedures, including those related to safety and student confidentiality.

* Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans as needed, ensuring alignment with state curriculum standards.

* Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.

Requirements

* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

* State certification or licensure as a Drivers Ed Instructor preferred; willingness to obtain certification may be considered.

* Previous experience teaching or working with high school students is preferred.

* Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to adapt to different learning styles and maintain student engagement.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Flexibility to work on short notice and adapt to varying schedules.

* Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

* Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
