Building Principal

SALARY:
Per Athens Education Association Master Agreement

EFFECTIVE DATE:
August 2025

Minimum Qualifications:

* Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

* Valid Michigan teaching certificate

* Certification in K-5 all subjects/K-8 Self-contained classroom

* Strong foundation in the essential instructional practices in literacy and mathematics

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Teach Athens Area Schools approved curriculum.

* Willing and able to deliver effective classroom instruction and management.

* Regularly assess and progress monitor students and utilize data to drive instruction

* Have a strong desire to work with elementary school-aged students and their parents.

* Be willing to participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, including staff development and curriculum development.

* Be willing to work as part of a building team towards the improvement of instruction.

* Be open to continuous change.

* Be an excellent communicator with students, parents, and colleagues.

* Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.
