Per OEA Master Contract
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
* Valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate required.
* Must hold a Science endorsement of DX or DI.
* Additional science endorsements that will be considered include: HX, DA, DC, DE, DH, or DP.
* Experience teaching high school science preferred.
* Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Position Requirements & Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate strong content knowledge in science and the ability to deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction.
* Develop and implement curriculum aligned with Michigan Academic Standards and district expectations.
* Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific reasoning.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of all learners.
* Assess student learning on an ongoing basis and provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and parents/guardians.
* Utilize assessment and student performance data to inform instruction and support students through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.
* Create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, responsibility, curiosity, and a love of learning.
* Incorporate instructional technology and digital resources to enhance teaching and student engagement.
* Establish and maintain safe laboratory procedures and practices consistent with district expectations and applicable regulations.
* Collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, support staff, and families to promote student success and implement school improvement initiatives.
* Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, school events, and other assigned responsibilities.
* Serve as a positive representative of the district in all interactions with students, families, community members, vendors, and fellow employees.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or designee.
