• Objective:
  
  To provide compassionate innovative services and amenities enabling seniors to enhance and maintain their quality of life.
• Basic Function:
  
  To provide residents with quality food service at meal time or at any activity that requires service.
• Supervision Received:
  
  The wait person works directly under the supervision of the Kitchen Manager, First Cook or Administrative personnel.
• Essential Job Functions:
  
  Waiting Tables
• Support the Mission and Ministry of Sapphire Lutheran Homes
• Will greet resident/guest and provide quality food service in a timely manner
• Will stock food/beverages as needed
• Will maintain a clean, safe, work environment
• Responsible for cleaning and setting an attractive dining room after each meal.
• Will help with all kitchen prep work as requested.
• Helps to ensure overall dining experience for staff and residents is enjoyable.
• Maintain high standards in sanitation, housekeeping, and safety of operation of equipment.
• Maintain privacy and dignity of residents and employees
• Cleaning duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned.
• Essential Job Functions:
  
  Dish Washing
• washes all dishes and equipment
• Maintains a clean and safe working area.
• Empties trash after each shift, sweeps and mops the entire kitchen area nightly.
• Will clean the equipment, sinks, tables, and walls after each shift.
• Will empty and break down boxes as needed.
• Maintain high standards in sanitation, housekeeping, and safety of operation of equipment.

• Ensure that sanitation levels are at an acceptable level and all food is being handled and prepared safely according to HACCP guidelines.
• Uphold and obey all safety rules of Sapphire
• Identify report and correct obvious safety hazards.

  Work Experience:
• Knowledge:
  Knowledge and skills acquired through completion of high school or GED. Prior experience in food preparation
• Skills/Abilities:
  Need to possess good verbal, written and observation skills. Be able to communicate and interact effectively in a professional manner with all departments. Must be able to respond to a variety of situations with patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition Needs to possess a good working knowledge of a kitchen.
• Working Conditions:

Works 8 to 40 Hours per week, including week-ends and holidays, as assigned an on call when necessary. Works in a well-lit, well-ventilated building. This position requires you to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb and lift. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
