School Website Coordinator
Location:
Deerfield High School
Stipend: $7,175 from period July 1st to June 30th, this is a 12-month role and will be assigned annually
Summary:
The School Website Coordinator will support the Communications Department's strategic priority of maintaining accurate, accessible, and high-quality digital communications across Township High School District 113's two high schools.
Qualifications:
* Currently employed with District 113
* Experience updating and maintaining websites across departments or teams
* Knowledge of website accessibility standards and best practices
* Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent branding across web pages
* Ability to troubleshoot website issues and communicate with technology and communication departments, as applicable
* A strong sense of urgency to ensure websites are accurate and compliant
Essential Functions:
Performance of related duties and key responsibilities resides outside of the essential functions of the employee's regular assignment. The stipend honorarium acknowledges that the duties assigned are:
* For performance of work beyond regular duties requiring specialized knowledge, attention to detail, and initiative;
* For coaching and supporting staff who communicate with the school community through the building website and associated digital platforms;
* In response to federal digital accessibility requirements under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II and standards, which require ongoing compliance monitoring; and
* In support of district-wide communications goals established by the Superintendent and aligned to the D113 Strategic Plan.
The criteria indicated below are intended to describe various types of work that may be performed. The exclusion of specific responsibilities does not prohibit them if the work is similar, related, or a logical task of the position.
* Maintain and publish timely, accurate updates to the building website in coordination with the school principal or designee and the Communications Department.
* Follow all district guidelines for website structure, content presentation, brand standards, and accessibility as established by the Communications Department.
* Ensure the school website and associated staff web presences are in ongoing compliance with ADA Title II digital accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 Level AA), and actively assist teachers and staff in meeting compliance standards.
* Attend and participate in regular School Website Coordinator meetings convened by the Communications Department.
* Serve as approver of staff and department web content associated with the school, checking for accuracy, timeliness, relevance, and compliance; collaborate with content owners to update or remove outdated or noncompliant material in accordance with district guidelines.
* Complete essential Finalsite website training and additional training as needed.
* Serve as the building liaison to the Communications Department for all website-related matters, including escalating issues, communicating updates, and coordinating changes.
* Share relevant Communications Department news, guidelines, and initiatives with building staff as appropriate.
* Consult and collaborate with building and district administrators to coordinate professional development, training sessions, and resources for staff related to web presence development, maintenance, and accessibility compliance.
* Support teachers and staff in using district-approved web tools and platforms effectively and in accordance with district standards.
* Connect staff to resources required for successful implementation and ongoing maintenance of their web presences.
* Provide regular evaluative feedback on the building's web presence, with recommended action steps for any identified areas of concern, to the Communications Department and building administration.
* Possess knowledge of and adhere to all applicable District regulations and procedures.
