JOB SUMMARY:This position has overall responsibility for the family & community engagement program requirements in both Ravalli and Missoula County. This includes planning, implementation & evaluation of services for enrolled families and their children. This position includes the combined responsibilities of working directly with families and planning and monitoring service delivery.

Has primary responsibility for the following areas in the Head Start Program Performance Standards:
- Family & Community Engagement Services
- Family engagement
- Parent activities to promote child learning & development
- Family partnership services
- Parent and family engagement in education and child development services
- Community partnerships and coordination
- Transition Services
- Organize and implement systems for the administration of Family & Community Engagement services. Assist the staff in all program options to implement these services. (processes)
- Develop, revise and implement Family and Community Engagement and transition related policies and procedures as needed.
- Maintain updated information on community resources and establish working relationships with community partners, including joining taskforces, boards, coalitions/work groups.
- Maintain informal agreements with commuity agencies, as required.
- Develop and implement a plan and system of continuous monitoring and evaluation of activities within the program.
- Participate annually in program planning including community needs assessment, goal planning, training plans, and self-assessment.
- Model and provide oversight of the program’s delivery of strength-based family engagement services.
- Work with staff to plan and implement family involvement and education activities to meet the needs of the families and program requirements.
- Model and ensure staff utilize relationship-based competencies to help families access resources and supports, as needed.
- Coordinate participation of community-based volunteers and interns.
- Work with other component staff to coordinate transitions, as applicable.
- Assist families in leadership and advocacy at Parent Committee, Policy Council and other parent leadership opportunities.
- Manage annual Policy Council recruitment, elections, ongoing communication and meeting needs.
- Oversee the annual update of family handbooks
- Manage Procare family communication system/maintain family contact information
- Oversee and successfully implement PFCE framework
- Plan/oversee family events at all program sites and in the community
- Oversee orientations and family partnership services as outlined in the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
