We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Track Coach for the upcoming season at Hamilton Middle School. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in facilitating practices, organizing events, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for all student-athletes. This position is perfect for someone with a passion for athletics and youth development.
Responsibilities
* Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily track practices.
* Help organize and manage track meets and events, including setup and breakdown of equipment.
* Provide guidance and support to student-athletes in their training and skill development.
* Monitor student-athlete attendance and participation during practices and events.
* Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes teamwork and sportsmanship.
* Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and progress.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by enforcing safety protocols and guidelines.
* Assist in maintaining equipment and facilities in good condition.
* Attend coaching meetings and contribute to the overall development of the track program.
Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent; experience in track and field or coaching preferred.
* Strong knowledge of track and field events, techniques, and training methods.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
* Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during the track season.
* CPR and First Aid certification preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already held.
* A commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.
* Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
