Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist, where your expertise will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and promoting oral health. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide comprehensive dental hygiene services, educate patients on oral hygiene practices, and support the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration to assess patient health status.
- Conduct dental assessments by reviewing medical and dental histories, documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Assist the dentist during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations for optimal dental health.
- Take and interpret medical imaging such as X-rays while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice.
- Proven experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry preferred.
- Proficiency with dental office software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding purposes.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly.
- Experience with chairside assisting is a plus, along with knowledge of medical imaging techniques.
