Adjunct Faculty, Criminal Justice and/or Homeland Security

Jersey City, NJ – Starting Rate for New Adjunct Faculty: $956.00 per Credit

Job Summary

Hudson County Community College Criminal Justice Program seeks qualified and motivated adjunct faculty to teach criminal justice and/or homeland security courses. Professors should be dynamic educators passionate about student success and committed to excellence in teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Teach introductory and advanced Criminal Justice and/or Homeland Security courses.
  • Deliver instruction in in‑person, online, and remote formats.
  • Schedule classes in morning, afternoon, and evening sessions at Jersey City and Union City campuses.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Homeland Security, Juris Doctor (J.D.), or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Two years of teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching online.
  • Demonstrated use of both traditional and non‑traditional teaching methods.
  • Strong understanding of educational technology and current trends in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, and Public Safety.
  • Ability to engage and connect with a diverse population of learners.
  • Commitment to developing students’ critical thinking, communication, and oral presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
  • Highly motivated, student‑centered, flexible, and people‑oriented.
  • Proven ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
