About This Role

The School of Continuing Education and Workforce Development is seeking an experienced healthcare professional to provide classroom and laboratory instruction for the EKG and Phlebotomy Technician programs. The instructor will prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism necessary for successful employment and national certification.

Summary Of Duties What You'll Do
  • Deliver engaging classroom lectures using current evidence-based medical practices.
  • Provide hands-on instruction in EKG procedures, phlebotomy techniques, infection control, patient safety, and professionalism.
  • Prepare lesson plans and deliver instruction using the approved curriculum and syllabus.
  • Evaluate student performance through written examinations, laboratory competencies, and practical skills assessments.
  • Prepare students for national certification examinations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student progress records.
  • Provide timely feedback regarding academic performance, attendance, and professional conduct.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and laboratory environment.
  • Identify classroom equipment and supply needs and communicate them to the Associate Director.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director to ensure program quality, student success, and compliance with college policies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications What You'll Need Education And Experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of recent hands‑on clinical experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, laboratory, or physician practice.
  • Previous teaching in Continuous Education or healthcare training experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Experience preparing students for national certification examinations is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National certification in EKG and/or Phlebotomy.
Competencies And Skills
  • Strong instructional and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following an approved curriculum and syllabus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic attendance and grading systems.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to student success.
