Elementary Leave Replacement Teachers (K-5

Position Overview

Elementary Education/Elementary Teacher – Replacement for teachers on a leave of absence. Length of positions may vary. Effective 2026–2027 School Year.

Location:

Elementary Schools. Closing Date: 07/31/2026.

• New Jersey Instructional Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility, or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (Early Childhood Education P–3 or Elementary Education K–6)
• Knowledge/experience with NJ Student Learning Standards
• Ability to work collaboratively with other grade level teachers
• Willingness to differentiate instruction and utilize technology to enhance student learning (particularly in mathematics and language arts literacy)
• Knowledge of state assessment expectations and test specifications
• Experience with Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching (a plus)
• Bilingual (a plus)
• Successful clearance of criminal history
• All substitutes must be BOE approved

• Days 1–20: $130.00 per day
• Day 21 and beyond: $367.00 per day (HTEA 26/27 STEP 1 BA Teacher Guide)

Leave replacement teachers receive benefits after five consecutive months of working (single health benefits). In addition to the base salary, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, vision, prescription, and dental insurance, and paid time off.
