Teachers of ESL (Grades K-12) - District

Requirements:

  • Valid NJ Instructional Certificate (Teacher of ESL)
  • Knowledge/experience with WIDA Standards and NJ Student Learning Standards for ELA
  • Knowledge/experience with ACCESS Testing
  • Knowledge of Charlotte Danielson's Framework for Teaching (a plus)
  • Ability to apply and turnkey Can Do Descriptors
  • Knowledge of best practices in working with MLs (ie: Sheltered English Instruction)
  • Understanding of the needs of Newcomers
  • Knowledge of Google Apps for Education
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with fellow department members (as well as other instructional staff)
  • Demonstrates detail in required paperwork, documentation, etc.
  • Bilingual (a plus)
  • Additional certification (Teacher of Bilingual/Bicultural) - a plus

Effective:  School Year

Salary:

  • As per salary guide based on experience and earned degree level
  • Minimum $67,958 - maximum $99,181

In addition to the base salary, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package: including medical/vision, prescription and dental insurance, and paid time off. Will be entered into the appropriate NJ Pension Program.
