Job Description

Embark on a fulfilling assignment as a Student Assistance Counselor at a high school for the full academic year. As a Student Assistance Counselor, you’ll support students’ emotional, social, and academic needs, fostering a positive school climate. Collaborate with educators, families, and outside agencies, helping students navigate challenges and thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

• Valid School Psychologist certification or relevant state licensure
• Proven background working as a School Psychologist or Student Assistance Counselor at the secondary level
• Experience with crisis intervention, counseling, and case management within a school setting
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, students, and families
• Familiarity with developing individualized support plans and delivering student-centered services

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments, individual and group counseling, and crisis intervention services
• Implement programs that promote positive behavior, mental health, and student well-being
• Serve as a liaison between students, families, and community resources
• Assist in the development and monitoring of student support plans tailored to individual needs
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams to address student concerns and develop strategies for academic and personal success
• Provide staff development and consultation as needed

Compensation for this position ranges from $45.11 to $65.11.
