Requirements
To be considered as a Sign Language Interpreter Substitute, you must hold a
- Valid NJ Certificate as an Educational Interpreter or be proficient in Sign Language Interpreting
- Must pass a criminal background check
- All substitutes must be BOE approved
- Substitutes are asked to work on an as-needed basis
$46/hour

Legal Requirements- Applicants must be reviewed under S-414/A-3188 policy to ensure there are no allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct.
- Appointed candidates are required to become a New Jersey resident within one year of starting the position as per P.L. 2011, c. 70.
