Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

Job Description

We provide paid training – no prior medical experience required.

• Must reside in Northern New Jersey:
  Bergen, Union, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Passaic, Sussex, and Warren counties.

• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand how impactful their donation is.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so volunteer donors feel comfortable returning.
• Be detail-oriented throughout the day to ensure blood collection meets regulatory requirements and is transfusable.
• Drive Red Cross vehicles, setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites; the position may require a minimum height of 60 inches to operate vehicles safely.

• Variable hours:
  Sunday‑Thursday, Monday‑Friday, or Tuesday‑Saturday.
• Two consecutive days off.
• Work may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight travel at some locations.
• Schedule is provided two to three weeks in advance.

Starting rate: $21.19 per hour.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull heavy weights, use ramps and stairs, and sit or stand for long periods; must be able to adapt to irregular hours and frequent schedule changes.
• Minimum height of 60 inches required to operate Red Cross vehicles safely.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

• Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (CNA, MA, EMT, etc.).
• Prior leadership experience.
