Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.
We are looking for a CMM Programmer to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, WA.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The CMM Programmer will coordinate and support all activities concerning the CMMs including programming, troubleshooting, planned maintenance, annual certifications, repairs upgrades, etc. They will develop and maintain software programs that control Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect and verify the quality of manufactured parts against design specification. A strong understanding of CNC programming, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and various CMM software is essential for this role.

  • Develop CMM programs using metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar, often based on engineering drawings and CAD data
  • Set up fixtures, probes, and measurement tools according to inspection requirements
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures
  • Use and interpret aerospace drawings and specifications including strong GD&T skills and experience
  • Design 3D computer models, drawings, and specifications for the fabrication of fixturing elements
  • Program offline using a CAD model
  • Create work instructions, setup instructions, and perform training events to ensure CMM operators can efficiently operate the machine and execute measurement programs
  • Operate CMMs and other manual inspection equipment to conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections of parts and assemblies
  • Analyze measurement data to confirm conformance to specifications and generate comprehensive inspection reports detailing results and any deviations
  • Provide input into production tracking systems to ensure efficient workflows
  • Collaborate with process engineers to plan manufacturing processes, achieving quality and design objectives
  • Develop shop documentation in compliance with ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards
  • Analyze laser-tracking data to verify the quality of setups, as applicable
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) maintenance
  • Meet and manage multiple deadlines while working effectively under pressure
  • Maintain professionalism and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Associate‑level engineering or engineering‑technology education, or equivalent work experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven experience in CMM programming and operation within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of PC‑DMIS, Calypso, or similar metrology software
  • Proficiency in GD&T and statistical analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for model‑based inspection
  • Attention to detail for accurate measurements
  • Problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting CMM program errors and measurement issues
  • Security clearance preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Reliability and excellent attendance as a condition of employment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Wage range $27–$47 per hour plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees may receive additional pay for off‑shifts, off‑site work, and access pay. Base compensation is estimated and may vary with experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
