  • Serve as strategic communications and public affairs counselor to the Presidents of Solid Tumor and Hematology and their respective leadership teams.
  • Own the development and execution of integrated communications and public affairs strategies supporting the Oncology portfolio, encompassing both Solid Tumor and Hematology businesses.
  • Coordinate product and franchise communications, including support for key brands, pipeline assets, business development activities, and major launches, ensuring coordinated and impactful engagement across internal and external partners.
  • Lead U.S. Oncology Public Affairs through direct management of the Director, U.S. Oncology Public Affairs, ensuring alignment of policy, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and reputation strategies with business objectives.
  • Partner with Global Corporate Affairs, Global Commercial Strategy Organization, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, Investor Relations, Legal, Regulatory, Patient Engagement, and other cross-functional teams to drive integrated communications programs that advance business priorities and protect corporate reputation.
  • Develop and implement strategies that positively influence the external environment, enhancing Johnson & Johnson’s leadership position in oncology and strengthening relationships with patient advocacy organizations, policy team members, healthcare professionals, and key influencers.
  • Provide leadership for enterprise reputation, issues preparedness, and crisis management activities related to the Oncology business, ensuring proactive planning and effective response strategies.
  • Guide thought leadership initiatives for senior Oncology leaders in support of the U.S. business, strengthening engagement with employees, customers, media, investors, advocacy organizations, and other critical partners.
  • Support organizational priorities, foster employee engagement, and reinforce business strategy across the U.S. Oncology organization.
  • Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, inclusion, and high performance while leading and developing a talented U.S. Communications & Public Affairs team supporting Oncology.
  • Serve as a member of the Americas Communications & Public Affairs Leadership Team, helping develop the strategy, capabilities, and strategic direction of the Communications & Public Affairs organization.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, corporate affairs, public relations, or related fields, with a strong focus on healthcare, biopharmaceuticals, or life sciences.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategic communications programs for complex businesses, brands, or organizations.
  • Significant experience in reputation management, engagement, and issues and crisis communications.
  • Proven success leading and developing high-performing teams, including direct people leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare environment, including policy, advocacy, access, and patient engagement considerations.
  • Direct pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry experience required;
    Oncology experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting product launches, business development activities, or transformational business initiatives.
  • Outstanding executive communications, strategic counseling, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong understanding of traditional, digital, and social media landscapes.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a global organization and influence senior partners across functions.
  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Liberal Arts, or related subject area required.
