Overview
Registered Nurse – OR (CVOR) travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont, United States.

Start date:

August 24, 2026 for a 16-week contract. Weekly pay: $2,947 to $3,032 per week. Shift: rotating 12-hour shifts (days/evenings). Setting: hospital-based operating room in a large, academic teaching environment. This role requires scrub and circulating duties and may include float to other OR suites as needed. Travel - Temporary Assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative nursing care as scrub and circulating RN for cardiovascular/open heart procedures; anticipate needs of the surgical team
  • Prepare the patient, set up equipment, verify procedure and consent, and ensure sterile technique throughout cases
  • Monitor patient status intraoperatively, manage instruments, counts, and implants, and support anesthesia as needed
  • Collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, and other OR staff; maintain equipment readiness and safety standards
  • May float to other OR suites (general, ortho, neuro, ENT, etc.) and adapt to varied case types
  • Accurately document in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and participate in handoffs and post-anesthesia care coordination
Requirements
  • Active RN license to practice in Vermont (or eligible to practice in the state of assignment)
  • BLS required; CNOR preferred
  • Minimum 2 years OR RN experience with recent cardiovascular/open heart OR competency
  • Prior travel experience preferred
  • Proficient in EPIC within the past 2 years
  • Must scrub and circulate; flexible with schedule; able to handle day/evening shifts and weekend call as required
  • Ability to work in a large, academic teaching hospital OR environment and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
