Compliance Manager, Pharmaceutical

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services that partners with hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and patient care close to home. We are hiring a Manager, Compliance to join our team. This role is remote but must be based within the United States.

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, industry codes of conduct, developments, and best practices that impact the company’s compliance program.
• Support the Chief Compliance Officer in overseeing comprehensive and ancillary projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Draft and update policies and other compliance‑related materials, and develop, implement, and manage effective compliance training and education initiatives for all company team members and third parties.
• Implement and train team members on protocols and procedures to ensure compliant practices.
• Support open lines of communication for reporting observed or suspected compliance issues or concerns, including maintaining the compliance hotline.
• Develop, lead, and manage risk‑based healthcare compliance monitoring and auditing programs to detect, respond to, and remediate compliance violations.
• Develop, lead, and manage risk‑based privacy monitoring and auditing programs to detect, respond to, and remediate privacy violations.
• Develop, implement, and enforce compliance standards through well‑publicized disciplinary guidelines.
• Manage and/or lead compliance and privacy investigations, including root cause analyses and corrective action plans.
• Perform other compliance‑related duties and projects, such as tracking and monitoring licenses, leases, and related activities to assist legal and business units.
• Draft weekly compliance messaging for team members.
• Travel as required (1–10% of time).

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of compliance and privacy work experience in a healthcare environment with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
• Experience in healthcare compliance, health information management, or legal field.
• Substantive experience working with federal and state healthcare or comparable regulations.
• Ability to write and interpret legal documents and policies, and to understand applicable laws and regulations.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and exercise excellent judgment.
• Ability to work with all team members—from executive leadership to staff—as well as with healthcare providers and patients.
• Excellent time‑management and organizational skills.
• Collegial and team‑oriented, with the ability and willingness to handle projects independently.

• Law degree (JD).
• Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or comparable certification.
