Store Manager in Training

Overview

The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a 16‑week development focused role designed to prepare candidates for a CVS Store Manager position. Participants receive both virtual and hands‑on learning experiences, guided by a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach.

• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to support and lead a team.
• Provide strong customer care and maintain high service levels.
• Execute merchandising strategies that support store sales growth.
• Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.

• Actively engage with leaders during Key Learning Experiences to support a path to promotion.
• Support the store as a member of the management team and lead consistently with CVS values and policies.
• Engage colleagues to advance the company's purpose of helping people on their path to better health.
• Accept promotion roles within the designated market and be willing to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in that area.
• Adapt to a variable work schedule based on business needs.

High School diploma or GED required; a four‑year college degree preferred. Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor may be considered in lieu of a college degree. Ability to transfer and work a flexible schedule is required.

Full‑time position with a typical hourly pay range of $18.50 to $23.88. Final base salary will depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
