Hiring Wage/Salary Range - $70,000-$73,500
Professional Experience/Qualifications - 5+ years in a high-level analytics role, with at least 3 years in a fundraising or non-profit environment. Proven ability to present to senior level leadership, turning raw numbers into a strategic narrative, and providing digestible narratives for those unfamiliar with complex data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in statistical tools, Tableau, Power BI, advanced SQL preferred.
Education - A Bachelor's in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Accountabilities
- This position serves as the primary architect of the university's fundraising intelligence. This role focuses on high-level data modeling, analytics, and executive level reporting/data visualizations to identify growth opportunities and provide the strategic roadmap for the advancement team, as well as the data partner for frontline fundraiser metrics and portfolio management.
Core accountabilities:
- Advanced Prospect Analytics & Innovative Data Intelligence (60%)
- Lead Generation & Data Mining:
Proactively identify untapped donor pools using cluster analysis and behavioral data (e.g., event attendance, digital engagement, and giving patterns). - Visualization & Dashboards:
Design and own the suite of interactive dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) used by senior leadership to track institutional KPIs. - Environmental Scanning:
Analyze external economic trends and philanthropic data to forecast long-term giving potential, and apply these trends to internal data analyses. - Utilize AI-powered tools and other advanced/emerging technologies to improve workflows and data insights.
- Lead the integration of appropriate emerging technologies-including AI and advanced visualization-into department workflows to increase the efficiency and depth of prospect discovery.
- Executive Level Reporting & Leadership Presentation (25%)
- Strategic Briefings:
Translate complex datasets into clear, "board-ready" presentations for the VP of Advancement and other senior leadership. - Campaign Analysis:
Act as the lead analyst for the campaign, providing feasibility data and progress-to-goal visualizations. - Present data findings at relevant meetings to drive a culture of data-informed decision-making.
- Ethical Data Stewardship:
Maintain rigorous standards for donor privacy and data security, ensuring all lead generation and behavioral tracking comply with institutional policies and regional regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Serve as a champion for the "ethical use of data," balancing data discovery with the protection of donor trust and the university's reputation. - Strategic Portfolio Consultation (15%)
- Portfolio Health Metrics:
Partner with frontline fundraisers to identify areas of potential within their portfolios, provide monthly audit reviews based on CRM data, and identify potential prospects for evolving university initiatives. - Targeted Strategy Sessions:
Conduct quarterly, data-focused reviews with the Director to suggest "re-tiering" or shifts in portfolio focus based on analytics. - Policy Guidance:
Advise on relationship management protocols based on data trends and internal written policies (e.g., recommending a maximum "time-in-stage" based on historical success rates).
