Role Description

The Treasurer’s Assistant is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Hamilton, OH, supporting the Treasurer’s Office in daily financial and administrative operations. This position assists with processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with district policies and state regulations. The role includes preparing routine financial reports, organizing documentation for audits, and maintaining confidential files and records.

The Treasurer’s Assistant responds to inquiries from staff, vendors, and community members, supports payroll and benefits processing as needed, and helps ensure compliance with budgeting and purchasing procedures. The role requires consistent attention to detail, timely completion of tasks, and effective communication with other district departments.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic accounting and bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with experience managing documentation, filing systems, and routine office procedures.
  • Ability to use office and financial software (e.g., spreadsheets, databases, accounting systems) and to learn district‑specific systems quickly.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a customer‑service mindset when interacting with staff, vendors, and community members.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion in handling confidential financial and personnel information.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a school district environment.
  • Relevant experience in a school district, public sector, or finance/administration role is preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent post‑secondary coursework in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field is beneficial; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
